Using the principles found in my book, Designing For Wellness, this creative design project called for transforming an underperforming room into a home workspace by day and speakeasy by night. Featuring a camouflaged door with hidden hinges, trusted carpenters were able to turn our mood-filled, mid century vision into reality with vertical wooden slats as a wall feature.
Two more master craftsmen were enlisted to build the green velvet channeled booth so that sitting at the table for meals, laptop work, or games would be comfortable. The handcrafted pendant created vertical light reflections along the walls of the room with the help of a dimmer switch. Both of these features created a calming sensory experience for the condo occupants and his guests.
